Question 1 Answer

At the end of 2022 there were 41 million children who were refugees or displaced, the highest number in recorded history. Children who’ve been forced to flee their homes are especially likely to be out of school and are at high risk of anxiety, depression, and other serious emotional challenges. Even when they’re in school, they rarely complete as many years of education as other children. Mental health challenges caused by traumatic events are an especially common reason for them to drop out. Play-based learning can help children who have lost their homes to develop mental and emotional resilience, can help them hold onto hope so they can stay in school and graduate, and can help them make up for lost time and catch up to their peers.
